Happenstance showcases new work by mixed media artist Essi Zimm who was recently featured in New American Paintings. Zimm draws inspiration from mythology, this time focusing on imagery related to constellations and the skies. A roaring lion, a leaping unicorn, a majestic peacock, thick forests of “Candy Trees” and more are rendered in her signature blend of richly textured collage, oil paint, bold patterns, and a vibrant color palette.

The opening night reception takes place Saturday, March 25 from 7-11pm. Also opening are exhibitions by Ten Hundred and Konecki. Curated by Jason Ostro. The event is free and open to the public. DJ Jonathan Williams spinning. Sponsored by Original New York Seltzer. Street parking or $8 at 3001 Beverly Blvd or Uber/Lyft. Gabba Gallery is located at 3126 Beverly Blvd.

Normal gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday noon-3pm and by appointment. On view through April 15.
