THE ARTISTS

Essi Zimm
“Mother”

”Ever notice that cut flowers are associated with the advancement of time? They don’t sit in the moment, or grow to the future, they decay the moment you receive them, a bit of a killjoy, if you ask me, but I still put them on display, sugar water and all. I wanted to paint a picture of these flowers that will not decay…a stab at immortality, with little cat figurines that reside in my home, a memory of a time past.

Essi Zimm is a painter and architect who’s work has been shown in solo shows around the world.
