Born in 1989 in Southern California and currently based in Long Beach, CA, Spacegoth spent her formative years traveling between California and Louisiana with her mother and grandmother. During this time, she kept visual journals of her adventures--an idea first introduced as a homework assignment.
Inspired by skateboarding culture, the dark humor in her works is drawn from real life interactions and conversations. Recognized for illustrating a distinctive “single line” style grim reaper with sarcastic and obscure phrases and prose, Spacegoth’s more colorful works include dark, dripping animals with missing eyes and primitive detail.
Her works have been featured in a number of group shows in Los Angeles since 2015, including a solo show at Gabba Gallery in February 2017. Spacegoth most recently showed her work all over the world with Adidas skateboarding at the Juxtapoz Club House in Miami during the week of Art Basel.
Spacegoth was awarded a certificate of recognition from the city of Los Angeles for her contribution to the Gabba Gallery Art Alley project in east Hollywood in 2015. Her work has appeared on Showtime, NBC news, and has been shared by many recognized outlets such as Lowcard Magazine, Volcom Women's, Adidas Skateboarding, and Cosmopolitan Mag's Instagram feed.
